MOON AND MUG COFFEE
Where coffee meets the cosmos
There's something magical about a space that remembers your name.
Where your ceramic mug lives on the shelf waiting for you.
Where the seasons shift and so does our menu,
following the cycles that remind us we're part of something larger.
Moon & Mug is a sisterhood of baristas and dreamers who opened our doors because the world needs more softness. More spaces where you can come exactly as you are—whether you're a coffee connoisseur or someone who just knows they like "something sweet and not too strong." We're here for the ritual-loving human who craves quality without pretension, and community without performance.
We lean into the phases of the moon and the rhythm of the seasons, crafting beverages that feel like coming home. Our seasonal house-made syrups and specialty elixirs shift with autumn's amber light, winter's quiet darkness, spring's awakening, and summer's golden abundance. Each cup is an invitation to pause, to notice, to be.
THE VALUES THAT DRIVE US:

Quality Coffee
Every drink we craft is a small ritual—from the first grind to the final pour. We work with Denim Coffee to bring you consistently excellent, coffee-forward beverages that don't require a degree to enjoy.
Whether you know your exact order by heart or you're still discovering what makes your tastebuds sing, we've got you.
Our seasonal house-made syrups follow nature's rhythm: think cardamom and brown butter in fall, rosemary honey in winter, lavender cream in spring, and peach basil when summer returns.
We also pour specialty tea elixirs for the non-coffee witches among us, and yes—there's always whipped cream for your pup.
Each season, each moon phase, each cup—an offering of care, consistency, and a little bit of enchantment.

Inclusive Community
In a mill town with deep roots and evolving stories, we're creating what's been missing: a true third space. Not home, not work—but that sacred in-between where community convenes, conversations meander, and creativity flows as freely as the espresso.
Across from Central Park in downtown Johnstown, our cozy shop blurs the line between coffeehouse and coffee home. Soft furnishings, warm lighting, and faces that genuinely light up when you walk through the door. Whether you're here for the hearty wifi, the welcoming conversation, or simply a corner to exist in peace—you belong here.
We're building something the old coffeehouses knew: that when people gather over good coffee, magic happens. Problems get solved. Poems get written. Healing begins. This is a space for sharing, for belonging, for returning again and again like the moon to its fullness.

...and a lil' bit of magic
Moon & Mug isn't just a daytime ritual—it's an evening sanctuary. Twice a month, we transform into something more: a stage for open mic nights where regional poets and musicians cast their spells. A cozy corner for craft nights where we teach needle felting, crochet, and jewelry-making by lamplight. A full immersive experience during our quarterly themed weekends (yes, we're talking Lord of the Rings marathons and Harry Potter feasts).
We also host our beloved Sober Bar sessions, pairing mocktail elixirs with comedy and community, because not all magic requires alcohol.
And every November, we open our doors for Chosen Family Friendsgiving—for anyone who needs a table, a place, a home for the evening.
In partnership with Craftwork Studios upstairs, we're creating programming that feeds the spirit as much as the body. Art, music, poetry, meditation, laughter, and always—always—excellent coffee.

Moon & Mug is powered by a sisterhood of dedicated baristas who've spent years perfecting the craft of coffee and the art of genuine human connection. We're artists, creatives, empaths, and caffeine enthusiasts who believe every interaction matters.
